Reception Intake September 2026
We are delighted to offer your child a place in Reception and extend a very warm welcome to our school community.
If you have received an offer, please contact your Local Authority to confirm whether you wish to accept the place.
You will have received a letter from Mrs Stroud, Executive Principal, inviting you to attend our Reception Parents’ Information Evening. This is an excellent opportunity to meet the Reception team and other key members of staff who will support your child as they begin their school journey. During the session, you will be able to ask questions, receive key information, and collect an admission pack. This pack has some important information included in it as well as admission forms that need to be completed and returned to school by Friday 19th June.
Thursday 4th June – 9:30am or 5:00pm
Please attend one session only and sign up using the link below:

These sessions allow your child to explore the classroom, experience both indoor and outdoor learning environments, and begin to feel comfortable in their new surroundings.
Getting to know your child is a key priority. Our Reception team works closely with local nurseries and pre-schools, visiting children in familiar settings and speaking with staff who already know them well. This helps us ensure a smooth and well-supported transition into school.
At Ramsey Spinning Infant School, we provide a nurturing and engaging Early Years environment where every child is supported to thrive from the very beginning of their school journey.
We believe children learn best when they feel safe, confident, and inspired. Our approach focuses on:
Encouraging independence so children can explore, make choices, and grow in confidence
Developing communication and language through high-quality interactions
Building strong foundations in early reading, writing, and mathematics
Supporting personal, social, and emotional development
Promoting resilience and a positive attitude towards challenges
Providing clear routines and structure to create a calm, secure environment
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, ensuring a balance of child-led exploration and carefully planned adult-led learning.
Our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity and ignite a love of learning.
Each half term, children explore engaging topics such as:
Traditional Tales
Let’s Explore
Dinosaurs
Ready, Steady, Grow
Animal Safari
At the Beach
Every topic begins with an exciting “Wow Event” to capture children’s interest. Learning is then developed through rich stories, hands-on experiences, and purposeful play.
At the end of each topic, families are invited to an “Express Event”, where children proudly share their learning through themed activities.
We believe that strong relationships with families are key to children’s success. We offer a range of opportunities for parents to be involved in school life:
Weekly reading sessions, where parents join their child in the classroom
Express Events to celebrate learning
Parents’ evenings
Workshops to support learning at home
SEND café sessions for additional support and guidance
Our dedicated team is committed to giving every child the best possible start. We provide a caring, stimulating environment where children feel valued, supported, and ready to learn.
We are excited to begin this journey with you and your child, building the foundations for a lifelong love of learning.
We look forward to getting to know you over the coming months.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
