Our Intent

Ramsey Spinning Infants School recognises and values the importance of Physical Education. Our curriculum intent is to provide fun, high quality lessons and learning opportunities which inspire our children to succeed and excel in a range of physical activities and competitive sports. Children will understand the importance of healthy competition against either themselves (personal best) or other children; the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle and the role that physical activity plays in achieving this. Children have the opportunity to take part in competitions throughout the school year against other local schools and other physical activities are offered to all children in order to build character and help to embed lifelong values. We aim to teach our children how to cooperate, collaborate and evaluate with others as part of an effective team, understanding fairness and equity of play.

Our curriculum aims to prepare and support all children at Ramsey Spinning Infants School towards healthy and active lifestyle choices for their future mental and physical well-being. Not only through the sporting skills taught, but through the underpinning School Games values including passion, self belief, respect, honesty, determination and teamwork. We aim to improve health, promote active participation and lifelong learning for each child to fulfil their potential.
