EYFS
Hi,
I’m Miss Phillips and I teach Cherry class and I love teaching. I really enjoy sharing experiences with all the children and making learning fun, exciting and challenging, so everyone has a great day everyday, we are a family and we look after each other. When I’m not at school I love spending time with my family and my two dogs. They are both rescue dogs from Qatar and Romania and they enjoy going for walks and visiting different places, just like me!
Hello, I’m Mrs Marshall and I am the Early Year lead and teach Pear class.
I love to be active and have fun. You can often find me going out for walks with my family especially if there is a big hill I can climb. I love to see new places and learn new things. I love to bring excitement and challenge to the classroom through games and imaginative tasks. We often jet off in class on our magic carpet to learn about new places, books, whilst having lots of fun.
Hi, I am Miss S and I teach in Holly class. I see myself as a fun and creative person, and try to bring that into the classroom, so the children have a fun and engaging learning experience. In my free time I like to exercise, spend time with family and travel. I enjoy the different cultures I experience and try to incorporate those into my classroom teaching. I am often found drawing or creating art from craft materials. I enjoy seeing the children develop and I am proud to play a big part in their development.
The teaching assistants who support across Foundation Stage are Mrs Richards, Mrs Gambling, Miss Abraham and Mrs Palmer and Miss Shepard.
This half term our topic is Let's Explore, where we will be learning all about ourselves More information about our curriculum can be found on our topic web.
Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. Please come to school dressed in your PE kit on these days. Earring MUST be removed on PE days.
Children in Foundation Stage will have a ‘decodable’ reading book which children choose from a selection that is carefully selected by the class teacher and linked to the phoneme (sound) the child is being taught. This book goes home on a Monday and will be changed the following Monday.
As a school we promote re-reading of fully decodable books five times a week for decoding, fluency, comprehension and prosody.
Children also take home a reading for pleasure book each week. This is a book each child chooses from the library on a Friday and enjoys reading at home with others.
On a weekly basis children will bring home the phonemes and common exception words they have been learning in phonics that week. They can use these to practise reading, making words and even sentences at home.
Throughout the year challenges are set for the children to complete with their families on tapestry or sent home for fun.
